For those that aren't well-versed in vehicle language, we've compiled a list of some of the most frequently asked questions related to servicing your vehicle. When it comes to the life of your vehicle, regular maintenance is a must, so if any of the below FAQ's don't answer your question, we invite you to come to Heritage Cadillac and take advantage of our top-notch service center and professional service technicians.
IS REGULAR MAINTENANCE IMPORTANT FOR MY CAR?
Yes. If you want your car running better for longer, then regular routine maintenance is a definite must. Skipping out on taking your car in for regular service can mean bigger problems for you and your car in the future.

If you find yourself with dirty filters, old spark plugs, and your oil hasn't been changed in awhile, you could be setting yourself up for bigger, more expensive, problems. If you aren't sure when you should take your car in, you can find a maintenance schedule in your owner's manual.
HOW LONG DO WIPER BLADES TYPICALLY LAST?
This really depends on where you live since wiper blades are exposed to the outside elements 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. If you live in a harsher climate, they will usually need to be replaced more often. As a general rule, if the wipers are smearing the snow or water on your windshield, it's time to change them.
HOW OFTEN SHOULD I GET MY OIL CHANGED?
Your oil is by far one of the most important parts of your car. It is responsible for the health of your engine and if you've ever had the opportunity to see the price of a new engine, you will be sure to keep up with regular oil changes. Oil lubricates all of the moving parts, prevents carbon from building up, and it helps keep the engine from overheating. Consult your owner's manual for the exact number of miles your vehicle can go before needing an oil change.
WHEN SHOULD I GET NEW BRAKES?
The technician should take a look at your brakes during every scheduled service appointment (just another reason why you should get your car regularly serviced), but knowing the signs of failing brakes could save you from a horrible disaster down the line. If you hear a high pitched squeal, and we know you will hear it, it's time to get those brake pads replaced.
